Maddie Rey Wins 2017 Battle of the Bands

RiseFest is announcing the winner for its third annual Battle of the Bands, female pop singer, Maddie Rey from Chicago, Illinois.

“Every year we get tons of inquiries from really talented groups that want to play our festival. ” says Marketing Director of RISE Ministries, Lee Stover. “Having only one main stage can make it difficult to fit in even those artists who have the talent level and ability to play RiseFest. This battle is a great addition to the festival and we’re happy to offer this opportunity to showcase artists you may not otherwise hear of.

Founder and President of RISE Ministries, Rob Roozeboom says, “We’re very happy to add Maddie to our lineup through winning our Battle of the Bands. We’re excited to have her and know she’ll bring a lot of energy to our festival. Help her kick off our festival each day!”

Maddie Rey has always loved the church!  As a PK, she grew up in church and is very familiar with many different aspects of ministry as she has helped her parents grow a thriving ministry. At a young age, Maddie received Jesus Christ as her personal savior and has kept Him on the throne of her heart since.  She is a vibrant young lady on fire for God and she teaches young people to live out loud for Jesus through music, video, dance, and a powerful Gospel message! Maddie Rey is passionate about her relationship with Christ and being an example to others as countless letters and testimonies pour in from parents whose children and teenagers have been impacted by her ministry!

Maddie Rey brings a fresh idea of church to the next generation, letting them know that the greatest testimony is to STAY in the church and never leave! She ministers powerfully telling young people, “you don't have to grow up in church and go out into the world then come back…you can dwell in the house of God forever!”

In its third year, the RiseFest Battle of the Bands seeks to give quality artists an opportunity to showcase their talents with an online platform in an effort to win real playing time on the festival’s main stage. Through partnering with Rawkzilla, a company out of Minneapolis, RiseFest had numerous acts sign up for the battle, including past winners hoping to come back. Interested parties filled out an online profile that included a bio, a video, and links to their respective websites and social media accounts. Artists were voted on online by the general public and chosen based on a combination of votes, content, skill, and performance. Past winners include Alive City and The Lasting Hope.
